INtroduction to RIE®
This 3-hour certified RIE® course offers an overview of Educaring™, instructed by a certified RIE® Associate. Topics include trust in the child, the guidelines of sensitive caregiving, facilitating optimal development through play, and communicating respect for children through our everyday interactions with them.
RIE Foundations™: Theory and Observation
This RIE® certified Course is for those who want to learn more about Magda Gerber’s Educaring™ Approach. Course content includes gross motor, fine motor and social-emotional development of the infant - designing the environment - planning the curriculum - issues in parenting.
Before Baby™
This certified RIE® introductory course for those expecting, waiting to adopt, or thinking about becoming a parent we focus on building a strong relationship between you and your baby right from from the start tapping into the confidence within yourself as a parent and trust in your baby’s unique ability to show you the way.
Seeing Picky eaters through new eyes
Picky eating... what is it all about anyway? Discover the stages of eating and how
they can help see your picky eater through a new lens. Explore new ways to support young eaters, parents, and caregivers while making mealtime pleasant again.
Roles in play & Caring
We will take a glimpse of the child at work and the child’s role during care routines (eating, diapering, etc.). The question posed will be “What is the child and adult’s role in play and caring?”
Finding balance: For infants, toddlers and their caregivers
Balance… It takes a lifetime to achieve, or does it? In this session we will look at
what is means to find balance for yourselves and the children we care. We will explore where balance begins, what gets in the way, and how to create strategies to support finding balance physically, emotionally, and in our everyday.
Family style dining in your program
Explore the moving parts of family style dining, what gets in the way, and how to
start or building on to what I’m already doing during mealtime. Did you know mealtime can be pleasant and support your pickiness of eaters? Come learn more!
surviving the infant & Toddler years
This workshop for families is focused on creating a foundation for learning for
infants and toddlers while building a solid parent-child relationship based on respect and trust for both of you.
The early years
At RISE we are committed to providing respectful care for all and celebrating and
honoring each person’s authentic self. This was inspired by the work of Magda Gerber from her nonprofit RIE®. Learn how we have been influenced by her work and it shows up in the care we provide.
Caring for the whole child
In the workshop we will look at environment, language, and care and its impact on the child. This is an interactive workshop that requires movement and participation throughout.
Seeing children through new eyes
In this two-day workshop we will dive into caring routines, observation and communication all through the lens of trust, respect, and authenticity. This work is inspired by Magda Gerber’s Educaring™ Approach and introduces students to this work.
caring with collaboration and respect
This workshop is designed with the caregiving team in mind. This might be two teachers in the same classroom or building. Let’s uncover some of the best practices that support the team, child and family through respectful care.
Surviving the tantrum
Gather tools and strategies to survive those rough parenting moments with your
child, while building connection and confidence for both of you.
Play as the academics
Come play with us while learning about play. In this workshop we discuss the
benefits and barriers to play while brainstorming how to get those everyday tasks done while meet our learning expectations for children.
Partner in sleep
We will take a glimpse of best practices around sleep routines and the power of observation. The question we will dive into is “How do we invite sleep to the child?”
